Trikke Light Electric Vehicles are revolutionizing guided tours and providing a fun new way to sightsee the world for couples, families, lone travelers, businesses and organizations alike. Is there a safer, more fun and adventurous way to take in the local sights and sounds? We’ll let you be the judge in our new, periodic segment spotlighting the many different Trikke Tours available the world over.
In this segment, we take off to sunny San Diego, California, with its near-perfect-year-round weather and 70 miles of spectacular coastline. It’s also where Paradise Trike Tours (spelled with one “k”) offers a variety of excursions, from Coronado Island to San Diego Harbor to neighboring Carlsbad and Oceanside.
San Diego promotes itself as California’s Beach City and has a seemingly infinite amount of recreation options. So what makes taking a three-wheel guided tour a good option? Here’s what your tour guides at Paradise Trike Tours had to say in our Q&A:
Q: What are the advantages of taking a Trikke tour, as opposed to other kinds of tours, including walking tours, bus tours, bike tours and other tours of San Diego?
A: We see the advantage of taking a Trikke tour every day, especially with the sunny weather that we always have here. There is no effort and no sweating involved in our tours. We ride right by those who are pedaling a bike or walking, and we can go so much farther with less effort than any other choice. Plus, we are constantly told how much safer Trikkes are than a Segway.
Q: What kind of people are best suited for Trikke tours?
A: We’ve had an elderly couple on our tours, as well as a family of seven, including three teenagers and a 12-year-old, and they all say the same thing: best time they have ever had!
“We have many favorite stops, including the historic Hotel Del Coronado and its world famous beach.”
Q: What are some of the things people might see on a Trikke tour that they might not see on other tours?
A: Due to our size and mobility we can pretty much go anywhere we want to show our guests the sites. Bus, bicycle and Segway tours have to stay basically on paved areas or streets, whereas we can even go on some light off-road areas.
Q: Is riding an electric Trikke for a Trikke tour easy for most people to learn?
A: Learning how to use one of our units takes only minutes to master. We give personalized instruction to every guest and within minutes, they are rolling along by themselves. Plus, the switchable speed selection allows us to control even when they are on their own.
Q: What kinds of reactions do you get from people who have been on your Trikke tour?
A: As seen in our reviews, people have an absolute blast on our Trikke tours. The reaction that we get at the end of the day is the same all the time: “Aw, we don’t want it to end.”
Q: Are Trikke tours good for groups or organizations? Why?
A: It’s great for groups, especially since we try and stay in a tight enough group that guests can converse with each other along the way. We promote our tours as “team-building” events to major companies in our area.
Q: What are some of your favorite stops along your Trikke tour?
A: We have many favorite stops, including the historic Hotel Del Coronado and its world famous beach, as well as the eclectic food and shopping that Seaport Village offers.
Q: How old do you have to be to go on a tour?
A: A minimum age of 13, but if a guest asks before booking about a younger guest accompanying them, we ask if they can handle a bike without training wheels. If they can handle that well, we allow them to ride but reserve the right to make the final decision once we see them on the Trikke.
Q: Anything else you would like to add about your particular tour?
A: We are extremely proud of our nothing but 5-star reviews across all of our booking platforms. We know we have a fun unit to ride so we do our best to keep the guest informed and constantly having a good time. It has been a nice partnership with Trikke and we look forward to growing it even more in the future.
